FY96 Per Pupil Expenditures

This is the annual " Per Pupil Expenditures fy1996 Per Pupil Expenditures" booklet, which includes the FY96 Per Pupil Expenditure by Program tabulations and additional tables that provide various perspectives on FY96 school spending. The report includes data by district on

  • Integrated Operating Cost Per Pupil
  • Summary of All Day Programs
  • Regular Day Expenditures Per Pupil by Grade Level
  • Special Education Expenditures Per Pupil, by Prototype
  • Bilingual Program Expenditures by Grade Level
  • Instructional Costs Per Pupil, Selected Functions

This booklet's publication was delayed because of the conversion of the End-of-Year Pupil and Financial Report data base to personal computer-based software. Now that the computations are being done in spreadsheets, I can guarantee that our per pupil expenditure booklet publications will be more timely in the future. You can expect the FY97 publication before the end of December, 1998. That report will reflect data submitted on the FY97 Pupil and Financial Report in the fall of 1997 as well as any final amendments that districts filed as a result of our review of the information, up through the amendment deadline of June 30, 1998.

The entire booklet can be obtained in electronic format on our school finance web site (www.doe.mass.edu/schoolfinance). If you have questions or comments, I encourage you to contact the Office of School Finance at 781-388-3300 x 553 (clynch@doe.mass.edu)
