School Finance: Statistical Comparisons

FY00 Per Pupil Expenditures

Regular Day Programs

In most districts, pupils are concentrated in the regular day programs where they receive a general course of instruction. Average expenditures are reported for each district operating a regular day program. Also published are per pupil costs for the kindergarten, elementary, junior or middle school and senior high school programs. Because of the different organizational structures, the grades in each district's program levels are printed next to the per pupil expenditure to make comparisons easier.

The 1999-2000 statewide average per pupil expenditure for Regular Day Programs is $5,876, an increase of $389 per pupil from school year 1998-1999.
