Residential School Tuition ("Circuit Breaker") for the months of July, August and September 2003 and beyond
|
The new "Circuit Breaker" Reimbursement Program is now in effect. At the implementation workshops held in August, we stated that we would not know the share of residential tuition bills DOE will pay directly until all initial claims have been edited. We said that by mid October the Department will publish the DOE share of tuition rates in the Circuit Breaker section of our website (http://finance1.doe.mass.edu/seducation/). Consequently, we are asking that local districts pay residential tuition bills in full from local funds for July, August and September 2003. Local districts will be reimbursed for these costs in the same manner they are reimbursed for Day School tuitions. We will not accept and process invoices for services rendered from July 2003 through September 2003. Any invoices submitted for this period will be returned to you.
Private Schools should send all invoices for services rendered to the sending local school district. We have posted two documents in the Circuit Breaker section of the website that outline both local and private school procedures to be used for Residential School tuition bills (CB5: and CB6: ). These procedures will be used for bills for October 2003 through June 2004.
