Massachusetts 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Massachusetts 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is to establish or expand community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours and provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with other activities designed to complement the students' regular academic program. Community learning centers may also offer families of these students literacy and related educational development.

RESULT OF FUNDING: This grant program will enable approximately 65 schools in 19 districts to provide children and youth in grades K-12 with after-school and summer academic enrichment opportunities along with youth development programs that complement and support regular academic programming. Grant awards range from $90,000 to $900,000.
