Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2010

Pathways to Family Success
Fund Code: 661, 671, 674, 675

May 2009

Dear Applicant:

I am pleased to release the Pathways to Family Success Continuation RFP on behalf of the Massachusetts Family Literacy Consortium (MFLC). As you know, the MFLC is a statewide initiative with the mission of forging effective partnerships among state agencies, community organizations, and other interested parties to expand and strengthen family literacy and support. MFLC members believe that the comprehensive integration of their respective services adds up to far more than the sum of their separate parts - and that family literacy is a promising catalyst for collaboration and integration.

The MFLC and its member agencies look to Pathways to Family Success grantees to help demonstrate that, working together, we increase opportunities to achieve the MFLC vision that all Massachusetts children and adults achieve their full personal, social, and economic potential. We appreciate that your communities are:

  • working to increase family access to services focused on the needs of at-risk families in the community at large in partnership with a range of community partners who share the MFLC commitment to family and community success; and

  • creating multi-disciplinary in-depth projects to demonstrate how modest amounts of glue funding can be leveraged to bring education, workforce development, and human and social services to bear on behalf of adults and children in the same family.

Subject to appropriation, this continuation RFP provides for level funding in FY2010. Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) will accept applications on behalf of the MFLC and its partners through June 8, 2009. The application includes:

  • Budget Pages;

  • Required Program Information; and

  • Attachments.

We look forward to reading your continuation applications and supporting your commitment to building replicable service delivery models driven by the needs of the whole child/whole family.

With Literacy in Mind,

Anne Serino
