School-to-Work Transition
Fund Code: 480

Purpose: The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to support School-to-Work programs.
Priorities: Proposed programs must provide high quality services.
Eligibility:

Blue Hills Local School to Career Partnership
The Commonwealth Corporation - (CS2) program
The Commonwealth Corporation - Diploma Plus Dropout Prevention Program
Cape Cod Community College - Diploma Plus
Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts
Junior Achievement of Eastern Massachusetts
Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts
Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts
Jobs for Bay State Graduates, Inc.
Latino After School Initiative
Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities - Adult Basic Education Program
MY TURN, Inc.
Southbridge Public Schools - Violence Prevention Initiative

Funding: Total funding is $3,119,517. The Massachusetts legislation that authorized the School-to-Work Transition Programs contains a matching funds requirement. The required amount of matching funds is determined by the relative equalized valuation per capita of the communities to be served.
Fund Use: Funds must be used in accordance with the Massachusetts legislative language that authorizes School-to-Work Transition Programs (line item 7027-0016) and the purpose and priorities outlined above.

Proposals must be received at the Department by 5:00 p.m. on the date due.

  7. At the end of the program, the Department will require a narrative evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the program to be submitted by July 31, 2009.
