Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2009

State Targeted Assistance: Priority I Status Schools (Chronic Underperformance)
Fund Code: 221

Purpose: The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to continue to support improvement efforts in Fall River schools with Priority I status (Chronic Underperformance).
Priority: The priority is to help support agreed-upon personnel capacity to address performance deficiencies still in evidence at these schools.
Eligibility: The Department will make awards in the designated amounts to current Priority I Schools.
Funding:

Grants awards in the amounts noted below are available for each of the following schools.

  1. Henry Lord Middle School (Fall River) - Department Head (Mathematics and Science) position - $48,128

  2. Matthew Kuss Middle School (Fall River) - Assistant Principal position - $58,133

Fund Use: Fund use must be consistent with the priority described above and may only include costs attributable directly to activities and initiatives that are designed to address ongoing academic deficiencies.
Project Duration:

Upon Approval - 8/31/2009

If you intend to use a portion of these funds during July and/or August 2009, the following items need to be submitted:

  1. Two (2) Part I - General - Program Unit Signature Pages (Standard Contract Form and Application for Program Grants)

    School Year Program: Approval - 6/30/2009; and

    Summer Program: 7/1/2009 - 8/31/2009.

  2. Two (2) Budget Detail Forms

    School Year Program: Expenditures from Approval - 6/30/2009; and

    Summer Program: Expenditures from 7/1/09 - 8/31/2009.
