Supplementary Support to Specific School Districts: Support to Attract and Maintain High-Quality Instructional Leadership (Hiring Bonus/Salary Differential) in Fall River Public Schools
Fund Code: 220-G

Purpose: The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to provide supplementary support to maintain high-quality instructional leadership in the Fall River Public Schools. This support will be in the form of hiring bonuses or salary differentials for principals hired for two chronically underperforming schools, the Matthew J. Kuss and Henry Lord Middle Schools.
Priorities: Bonuses are calculated specifically for principals at the Kuss and Lord Middle Schools in accordance with MGL chapter 69, section 1J. Amounts have been determined based on each school's Free and Reduced Lunch enrollment as a proportion of the district's base principal salary.
Eligibility: Only the Kuss and Lord Middle Schools (Fall River Public Schools) are eligible to apply.
Funding:

Funding, determined according to the information noted above, shall be allocated as follows:

Matthew J. Kuss School Principal, school year 2008-2009

Hiring Bonus (salary differential) of $8,380

Henry Lord Middle School Principal, school year 2008-2009

Hiring Bonus (salary differential) of $7,320

Fund Use: Funds are to be used to pay hiring bonuses for the principals of the Matthew J. Kuss and Henry Lord Middle Schools and must be released by the district to principals as soon as possible following the district's receipt of funding.
