Subject: Announcement of Competitive Technology Grants

I am pleased to announce the FY2009 Technology Enhancement Competitive Grant Program funded through Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology, under the federal No Child Left Behind Act.

Technology Enhancement Competitive Grants (Fund Code: 170-B)

Approximately $1,200,000 will be available for this one-year program. Grant awards will range from $35,000 to $125,000 for the grant period (subject to appropriation).

Enclosed is a grant application packet. Proposals are due at the Department by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008. If you have any questions, please e-mail Connie Louie at clouie@doe.mass.edu or call her at 781-338-6865.

Three technical assistance workshops will be held on:

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 Massachusetts Department of Education, Malden (10 a.m. to noon)

Thursday, June 5, 2008 Meline Kasparian Professional Development Center, Springfield (10 a.m. to noon)

Monday, June 9, 2008 Duxbury High School, Duxbury (10 a.m. to noon)
