| Purpose: | The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to support the pilot program in the town of Southbridge for preventing violence and hate crimes in Kindergarten through Grade 8. |
| Priorities: | Proposed programs must provide high quality services. |
| Eligibility: | Southbridge Public Schools is eligible for this grant. |
| Funding: | Of the funds appropriated for line item 7027-0016 in FY2008, the Legislature provided that $100,000 shall be allocated to Southbridge Public Schools. |
| Fund Use: | Funds must be used as described in a budget, budget narrative, and scope of services that is submitted to the Department of Education's Connecting Activities Unit. |

At the end of the program, the Department will require a narrative evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the program to be submitted by July 31, 2008.
