Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2010

Adult And Community Learning Services

Notice of Increased Funding

September 2009

In the spring, Adult and Community Learning Services allocated grant awards based on projected budget amounts. At this time, I am pleased to inform that because those projected budget amounts were less than the final budget amount, we are able to restore some of your grant award. Your grant award of FY2010 will be increased by the amount shown in the Table 1- Funding Allocations.

Programs that are funded through Fund Codes: 345, 563, 287 must submit an FY2010 amendment and an updated Budget Detail pages. Programs funded through Fund Codes: 340, 359, 285, and 342 must submit a new grant application for the funding increase amount only according to the following table:

Current Fund Code New Grant Application Fund Code
340* 345
359* 345
285 563
342 561

Note: Programs that are receiving funds through Fund Codes: 340 and 359 in FY2010 should combine the increased awards and send one new grant application under Fund Code 345.

Community Adult Learning Centers (Fund Codes: 340, 345, and 359) may use the funding to support any allowable program costs as unrestricted funding.

Grant application forms and amendment forms are available on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website at: http://finance1.doe.mass.edu/Grants/procedure/default.html.

It is important that the applications and amendments are submitted as quickly as possible. The date due for submission is Friday, October 9, 2009.

Should you have any questions regarding the grant application or amendment process, please call Yudhishthir Rao at 781-338-3806 or e-mail him at yrao@doe.mass.edu. Yudhishthir or your Program Specialist will be happy to assist you.
