Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2010
Workplace Education Planning Grant
Fund Code: 494
June 19, 2009
Dear Applicant:
I am pleased to issue the Department's FY2010 Request for Proposals (RFP) for Workplace Education Planning grants. Workplace Education Planning grants are designed for partnerships among education providers, business partners, and labor unions (where the workforce is unionized) to assess the basic skills needs of its workforce.
By setting aside time to conduct an inclusive planning process by means of a Workplace Needs Analysis, partnerships and workers will be able to assess the current work environment, determine the extent to which an education program is needed, and identify the type of program that might best suit that environment.
If, as a result of conducting a Workplace Needs Analysis, your partnership decides to move forward with a workplace education program, additional grants may be available.
Workplace Education partnerships contribute to lifelong learning opportunities and foster the development of a better skilled and more competitive workforce. For additional information, please contact Olivia Steele at osteele@doe.mass.edu or (781) 338-3858.
Sincerely,
Anne Serino, Administrator
