Massachusetts 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Grant (New Sites)

PURPOSE: The purpose of the federally-funded Massachusetts 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program is to establish Community Learning Centers that operate during out-of-school hours and provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with other activities designed to complement the students' school-day program. Community Learning Centers may offer literacy and related educational development to families of these students.

RESULT OF FUNDING: This grant program will enable 20 districts and their partnering organizations to provide more than 3,500 children and youth in grades K-12 with after-school and summer academic enrichment opportunities along with youth development programs that complement and support regular academic programming at 35 new sites. Grant awards range from $102,000 to $375,000.
