| PURPOSE: The purpose of this state grant program is to help school districts establish or significantly expand middle school and high school level district and inter-district Alternative Education programs that serve students who are suspended or expelled from school and/or are at-risk of educational failure due to truancy or dropping out of school. |

| RESULT OF FUNDING: Funding will support the creation or significant enhancement of Alternative Education programs for at-risk students in three (3) districts. Approximately 150 students from the three districts will benefit from the grant funding for Alternative Education. Funds will be used for program coordinators, teachers, support staff, consultants, and supplies. Grant awards range from $35,000 to $70,000. |
