21ST Century Community Learning Centers Program

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant program is to establish Community Learning Centers that operate during out-of-school hours and provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with other activities designed to complement the students' regular academic program. Community Learning Centers may offer families of these students literacy and related educational development.

RESULT OF FUNDING: This grant will enable 18 districts and their partnering organizations to provide more than 1,700 children and youth in grades K-12 with after-school and summer academic enrichment opportunities along with youth development programs that complement and support regular academic programming at 34 different sites. Grant awards range from $72,493 to $350,000.
