| PURPOSE: The purpose of this federal competitive grant project is to improve career and technical education programs in rural districts. The grant will assist rural districts that will not be recipients of Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act (Perkins IV) allocation funds due to minimum amount requirements and/or lack of personnel and resources needed to form or join a consortium in order to prepare the required Perkins Local Plan. |

Approximately 250 students will be served by the grant in school year 2008-2009. Grant awards range from $12,464 to $15,000. |
