Title I School Improvement Regional Grant

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant program is to provide federal school improvement funds to districts to address areas of common need among Title I schools in accountability status.

RESULT OF FUNDING: The funds will allow participating districts to collaborate on school improvement initiatives and activities that address a common need. Additionally, the collaboration will enable districts to share ideas and strategies related to school improvement efforts. Several of the grant proposals focus on building professional learning communities among faculties and developing staff capacity to analyze student level data. Many of the grant proposals include additional instructional time for struggling students over the summer that combines direct services with embedded teacher professional development. The funding will support approximately 75,000 students in 164 eligible schools in 68 eligible school districts. Individual grant awards range from $31,525 to $217,460.
