Even Start Family Literacy Program

TOTAL INCREASE AMOUNT: $26,177 (Federal)
PURPOSE: The purpose of this federal grant program is to help families break the intergenerational cycle of under-education and poverty by providing the following comprehensive services in an integrated approach: early childhood education; adult education; parenting education; interactive parent/child activities; and home visits.
RESULT OF FUNDING: These increases will allow approximately 65 at-risk families to participate in a comprehensive family literacy program that will support parents in helping their children to achieve state learning standards and develop healthy habits.
