Subject: Request for Proposals: Transition to Full-Day Kindergarten

We are pleased to offer school districts the opportunity to apply for grants to plan for the transition of half-day kindergarten classrooms to high-quality, full-day kindergarten classrooms. For FY2008, $6,000,000 has been allocated in the state budget for this purpose.

Transition to Full-Day Kindergarten Request for Proposal (Fund Code: 702)

Districts may apply for $15,000 for each part-time kindergarten classroom that will be opened as a full-day classroom in the fall of 2008.

  • Letters of Intent to apply for the Transition to Full-Day Kindergarten grant (Fund Code: 702), including an estimate of the number of full-day classes that the district intends to open in the 2008-2009 school year, are due on September 28 2007.

  • Proposals are due on October 22, 2007.
