| Purposes: | The purposes of this state-funded grant program are to:
convene regional networks that ensure representation of a mix of after-school and out-of-school time providers, including public schools, community-based organizations, etc.;
provide technical assistance related to the provision of high quality after-school and out-of-school time programs;
work with the Department of Education and the Department of Early Education and Care to support the implementation of school-community partnerships; and
submit a report by October 15, 2008 to make recommendations on how to enhance school-community partnerships and positive outcomes for children and youth through funding in line-item 7061-9611. |
| Eligibility: | In accordance with line item 7061-9611, the Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership is the only eligible applicant for these funds. |
| Funding: | $50,000 is available to support the purposes listed above. |
| Fund Use: | Funds can be used to convene regional networks, to:
support activities related to working with the Departments of Education and Early Education and Care around the implementation of the after-school and out-of-school time grant program (funded by line-item 7061-9611); and/or
facilitate the development of a report to the General Court on how to enhance school-community partnerships and positive outcomes for children and youth related to after-school and out-of-school time programs. |
