| PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant program is to provide intensive and focused professional development for individuals who aspire to be superintendents of vocational technical school districts or directors of career/vocational technical education in non-vocational technical school districts in order to prepare them for these leadership positions. |

| RESULT OF FUNDING: A partnership comprised of school districts with Chapter 74-approved vocational technical education programs and the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators will provide participants with an administrative internship (300 hours) in the vocational technical superintendent/assistant superintendent role with an appropriately licensed and trained mentor. In addition, the partnership will conduct seminars in conjunction with the internship in order to reinforce the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship. A leadership portfolio will be developed by each of the 27 participants. Participating school districts will assist with funding the Academy. The grant award is $20,000. |
