| PURPOSE: The purpose of this federal competitive grant project is to provide funds to school districts for the purchase of up-to-date equipment and instructional materials recommended by business/industry for career/vocational technical education programs at the secondary level. |

| RESULT OF FUNDING: The up-to-date equipment and instructional materials purchased with grant funds will enhance Perkins IV Core Indicator outcomes. For example, job placement upon graduation (Perkins IV Core Indicator 5) will be enhanced by the up-to-date equipment allowing instructional staff to teach specific skills that a particular industry demands. Approximately 3,000 students will be served by the grants in school year 2008-2009. Grant awards range from $28,879 to $40,000. |
