PURPOSE: The purpose of this two-year grant program is to support school districts to plan, implement, and evaluate effective projects that:
improve student academic achievement through the use of one-to-one laptop computers;
assist every student - regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, income, geographical location, or disability - in becoming technologically literate; and
provide high quality professional development that uses research-based instructional strategies to integrate technology effectively into instruction. |

| RESULT OF FUNDING: Funding from this program will support middle/high school teachers and students in 12 districts to use one-to-one laptop computers (a wireless laptop computer for every student) and appropriate technologies to teach and learn the content of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. At least 25% of the funding will be spent on high quality technology professional development. This program will serve approximately 350 educators and 5,000 students. Grant awards for this two-year program range from $75,000 to $291,375. |
