Subject: Request for Proposals: Partnership for Online Professional Development

We are pleased to announce another opportunity for online technology professional development funded through Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology, under the No Child Left Behind Act.

The Partnership for Online Professional Development Program (Fund Code: 165) is an 16-month program that will provide up to $50,000 per competitive grant to a high-need school district or to a district partnering with a high-need school district. The applying district must work with an appropriate service provider to provide high-quality online course(s) using MassONE. Approximately $500,000 will be available for this program.

Proposals are due at the Department by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007. If you have questions, please e-mail or call Connie Louie (clouie@doe.mass.edu, 781-338-6865).

To assist you with the grant application, we are conducting an information session on Monday, March 5, 2007 from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Massachusetts Department of Education, 350 Main Street, Malden (Room 3A). Please email Nicole Cirino at ncirino@doe.mass.edu by Thursday, March 1, 2007 if you or your staff members wish to attend the session.
