| | PURPOSE: The purpose of this competitive grant program is to assist school districts with establishing and expanding district and inter-district middle and high school level Alternative Education programs that service students suspended or expelled from school and/or students at-risk of educational failure due to truancy or dropping out of school.

| RESULT OF FUNDING: The funding will support the creation or significant enhancement of Alternative Education programs for at-risk students in three districts. A total of approximately 163 students from the three districts will benefit from the grant funding for Alternative Education. Grant funds will be used for program coordinators, teachers, support staff, consultants, and supplies. Grant awards range from $63,600 to $73,000. |
