Enhancing Education Through Technology Competitive Grants

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant program is to support school districts to plan, implement, and evaluate effective projects that:
improve student academic achievement through the use of one-to-one laptop computers;
assist every student - regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, income, geographical location, or disability - in becoming technologically literate; and
provide high quality professional development that uses research-based instructional strategies to integrate technology effectively into instruction. |

| RESULT OF FUNDING: Funding from this program will support six (6) partnerships that include 10 districts, higher education institutions, and public or private organizations. Each partnership consists of at least one high-need school district and at least 25% of the funding will be spent on high-quality technology professional development. This program will serve approximately 300 educators and 6,000 students. Grant awards range from $75,000 to $292,523. |
