Technology for Data Driven Decisions (TD3)

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant program is to support school districts to partner with the Massachusetts Department of Education by using technology to collect, manage, and analyze data to inform and enhance teaching and school improvement efforts.

RESULT OF FUNDING:
  • Data Warehouse Pilot Project - This two-year project will support educators in two under-performing districts, with a total student population of 8,239, to use the state's Data Warehouse system to produce timely and accurate longitudinal reports for data analyses for student improvement. The school districts will be able to upload additional local data, including formative assessment, financial, educator, and professional development.

  • Formative Assessment Pilot Project - This two-year project will support 16 middle schools in seven (7) high-need districts to participate in Phase II of the pilot project for the assessment and instructional data system, Galileo Online. This system helps teachers, administrators, parents, and students identify trends in student learning, improve classroom instruction, and ultimately raise student academic achievement. This project will impact approximately 600 educators and 13,000 students.
