OVERVIEW: Standard Application For Program Grants

October 15, 2004

The Department's Application for Program Grants includes Part I, General Descriptor Information and Standard Contract Certification cover page, which requires an original signature by the Superintendent/Agency Head. Part II, Budgetary Information, is also presented in a summary format with streamlined detailed budget pages.

All applicants are advised that: (1) federal and state regulations require that separate and auditable records be maintained for each project; and (2) funds must be administered in compliance with relevant federal or state laws, regulations, or policies.

There are two standard schedules that should be used as needed or directed by the RFP.

  • Schedule B is used to document local matching contributions in grants that have cost sharing or matching requirements.

  • Schedule C (Statement of Participation and Support) for competitive grant applications

Schedule C may be used to record the commitment of multiple districts or organizations to pursue a coordinated project outlined in the grant narrative.

Part III, Required Program Information asks for information needed to comply with either state or federal requirements. Some programs require narrative information according to particular guidelines as specified in the RFP.

System for Managing Accountability Through Technology (SMARTT) In addition to the Standard Application for Program Grants, applicants must submit a hard copy of the required elements of the System For Managing Accountability and Results Through Technology (SMARTT).
