Alternative Education Program for Suspended and Expelled Students and Other At-Risk Students

PURPOSE: The purposes of the grant program are to:
assist school districts to develop and establish middle school and high school level alternative education programs and services for students suspended or expelled from school; or provide for students, who are at risk of dropping out of school, alternative education programs that:
implement self-improvement, behavior management, and life skills training;
use family-based approaches; and
assist students and teachers during the transition of students back to general education classrooms.
