Partnership for Technology Professional Development

PURPOSE: The purpose of this 15-month federal grant program is to support districts in working collaboratively with appropriate service providers to provide high-quality technology professional development using MassONE and/or in the use of MassONE, the state's online learning system. The goal of the professional development is to promote student learning, improve teaching practices, and provide districts with capacity-building solutions through the use of innovative educational practices and the use of MassONE. Professional development activities may be delivered online, face-to-face, or through a combination of both approaches.

RESULT OF FUNDING: Funding from this program will support the partnership of the high need district with three (3) professional development providers to offer quality professional development to educators across the Commonwealth. This program will provide over 600 hours of professional development and serve approximately 500 educators and 13,000 students. Training will be provided in core academic areas, including science, mathematics, and technology/engineering, in curriculum design, and in literacy for the 21st century. The grant award for the high need district is $250,000.
