Title II-B: Massachusetts Mathematics and Science Partnership Program - Increase

TOTAL INCREASE AMOUNT: $26,596 (Federal)
PURPOSE: The purpose of this federal grant program is to improve student achievement in mathematics, science, and technology/engineering, primarily through intensive, high-quality professional development activities that focus on deepening teachers' content knowledge and skills. This funding will be used to expand the partnership program's professional development and capacity building initiatives to provide an additional content course.
RESULT OF FUNDING: This grant award will provide funding for an additional summer course to be offered by the Greater North Shore Science Partnership that includes the high-need school districts of Lynn and Malden. This summer program will enhance and extend the courses and programs offered primarily to upper elementary and middle school teachers as part of the existing Title II-B grants. The single grant award is for $26,596.
